JUDGES GUIDE TO CONCOURS PARTICIPATION

Being a Certified JCNA judge is a lot of fun, but also carries with it a lot of responsibility. The job needs to be done well and with a high level of consistancy and care. In this regard, I have developed a short tutorial on the elements of being a judge and particular elements from the Official JCNA rule book that are most pertinent to the judges task.

In ordered to be prepared for your judging assignment, it is important that you are well informed and prepared. To that end, the following will assist you in performing at the expected JCNA level.

Please take advantage of the following information, and especially be prepared to take the required JCNA Judge's Test. This is an important part of obtaining your certification as a JCNA authorized judge. Once certified, your credentials are good for three (3) years.

Thanks for participating as part of the judging team.

Sincerely Yours,

Wayne Estrada
Chief Concours Judge
Virginia Jaguar Club (VJC)
Nation's Capitol Jaguar Owners Club (NCJOC)

Guidelines for Judges

I have condensed the extensive JCNA rule book to a nine page summary of judging. This is the same document that we will review at the training class. Please read this FIRST! Guidelines for JCNA Judges

Online JCNA Judges Test

All judges are required every three years to become certified by taking the JCNA Judge's Test. You can easily become re certified for another three years by re taking the test. There are 50 questions with 10 being fill in the blank based on deductions of set points in the rule book.

The test is open book, there is no time limit, and you can take the test as many times as you like. Test results are automatically emailed back to me.

2009 JCNA Concours Rule Book

NOTE: Changes (if any) to the 2010 rule book have not yet been posted

The JCNA rule book has been revised again slightly for 2009. For an overview of changes over last year, you may choose to read the Rule Book Synopsis

If you are a new judge, please read chapter 3, "Instructions and General Rules for the Judge," chapter 5, "Judges Guide for Jaguar Evaluation," and chapter 6, "Judge's Guide for scoring non authenticity."

The rule book is the heart of JCNA judging! The better you know the rule book, the more precise you willb ein discerning legal and illegal points on a car and to what degree.

If you don't have tim eto read the the above chapters, please read the Judging Synopsis I have prepared above. THIS SHOULD ONLY TAKE ABOUT 15-20 MINUTES OF YOUR TIME.

Official JCNA Judging Guidlines by available Model

JCNA have developed judging guides for use by the Chief Judge, Concours Judges, and interested participating entrants. They are a rich source of very specific information on certain model Jaguars.

As you can see from the list below, this is not a complete listing, but of of these are good reads:
