2010
Virginia Jaguar Club
Concours d'Elegance

The 12th annual Virginia Jaguar Club Concours d'Elegance for 2010 will be held on Saturday, September 18th. The venue for this year will be the same as last in Richmond's historic Shockoe Slip. PLEASE NOTE that as in past years, this date does not conflict with any other sanctioned Concours.

Shockoe Slip, near Brown's Island, is Richmond's oldest mercantile district and was once the site of the State Capitol building. This area has been a bustling hub since the 17th century. Though the earliest buildings here were destroyed during the Civil War, original cobblestones and structures dating from 1868-1888 make this a beautiful and historic area and a perfect place for sightseeing. Shockoe also offers shopping, dining and entertainment and has become the nightspot of choice for Richmonders.

The scene at our 2009 Concours

Jaguars exclusively will be featured on Saturday in Shockoe Slip. The VJC Concours will be held in the unique environment on the historic cobblestones of this popular Richmond venue. As in years past, the same high quality of JCNA judging standards and accuracy will be applied to all participants.

Parking and placement will begin around the fountain at 12 NOON, with "rags down" by 1:30 PM.  Judging will be finished and scores tabulated by 4:00 PM providing everyone time to shop, relax, or otherwise enjoy the area before the evening awards banquet.  Awards will presented to owners of the three highest scoring Jaguars in both Driven and Championship Divisions.

http://www.vajaguarclub.com/images/sam-miller-sign.jpgAlso as in 2009, for our traditional Saturday night dinner, Concours entrants, club members and other Jaguar enthusiasts will gather just across the street at Sam Miller's Restaurant at 7:00 pm for a great meal followed by the presentation of awards by Concours Chairman Steve Kelley and Chief Judge, Wayne Estrada. Participants will not need to be present to receive an award but last year this banquet wound up to be the most fun and memorable in years!  As always, the 2010 VJC Concours d'Elegance, will be a JCNA officially sanctioned event that counts towards national point totals.

Overnight accommodations are within sight and walking distance of the Concours, located conveniently at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 555 East Canal St. Richmond, VA 23219.

Letter from the President about the 2010 Concours

Welcome to the 2010 VJC Concours d'Elegance. Please support the VJC by bringing your Jaguar to the Concours (if you want it judged for JCNA points) or just give it a wash and bring it to the show for everyone to enjoy. The event will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, September 18th at our new venue - the historic water fountain circle in Richmond's historic Shockoe Slip. This is a JCNA sanctioned event for those wanting JCNA points and participants must register with VJC in order to participate. As opposed to years past, day of show registrations are allowed on a SPACE AVAILABLE basis only. Pre registration is strongly recommended due to space limitations and "display only" entries will be accepted on a "first come, first served" basis. The registration form is available by clicking on the link in the left sidebar of this page.

Please let me know by Wednesday, September 8th if you plan to attend the Concours awards dinner.  Email to davidmharrison2003@yahoo.com or call me at 804-748-4601. THIS IS IMPORTANT. Again, pre registration for the dinner is required and those registering will be provided with the restaurant's menu choices. Sorry, but no day of event accommodations can be made if you do not let me know in advance on attending the banquet.

If you also wish to enter your Jaguar in the CVBCC show the following day at the lovely New Kent Winery (Sunday September 19th) a separate registration is required. Please go to the CVBCC website at http://www.cvbcc.com to register for that show. The CVBCC show has become a classic "must see" show on the Eastern Seaboard - one that you will not want to miss.

For all participants coming from out of town, CVBCC has arranged for a special rate at the Crowne Plaza Hotel at 555 E Canal Street. CVBCC also offers a hospitality suite at the Crowne Plaza, for sharing LBC stories and tales. Ask at the front desk for the suite number. Free food and drink is provided for all British Car enthusiasts! Cost to enter the general European Car Show is $35 per car.

Looking forward to seeing you and your Jaguar at this year's event.

David Harrison
VJC President
